# PSA: Changing the Time Dimension

Hi all! I just want to alert you to some updates I am making in a soon to be merged PR that will hopefully make it easier, and clearer, to update a time dimension and understand the effects such a change has on components, models, and their respective run periods. You can see the documentation [here](https://github.com/mimiframework/Mimi.jl/blob/d5d0c536e64e74e60ade7245dc777d69d4f5ea33/docs/src/howto/howto_5.md) , which will soon be embedded in the documentation in the _Update the Time Dimension_ section. It might be longer than most users will probably want to know but it’s a good explanation.

All of your old code will still work.
